I can't even see how that would help. If you think about it they don't take


softballs out of play after every hit pitch like major league baseball does. They use the same balls over and over and over. They get beat on, scuffed up, etc., so I can't even see how doctoring a softball would help much. I remember when I pitched baseball I would always like to pitch a ball that had been beaten to death. You could really get those balls to break hard. When I had a new ball, I rarely even tried to throw curves.
